Fotofacial Rejuvenation Procedures - rosacea, skin color, texture

This procedure is also referred to as photofacial rejuvenation or simply as a fotofacial or a photofacial.

At the Bel-Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery we use Fotofacial Rejuvenation procedures to treat and improve, red, pink and brown skin color changes without pain and without time for recovery. With minimal discomfort, patients obtain help with rosacea that causes the vexing symptoms of redness and excessive skin flushing. Other skin problems such as "broken capillaries" (telangiectasias), brown spots, liver spots, uneven pigmentation and sun-induced skin damage respond well to the fotofacial treatments. In contrast to other intense light pulse (IPL) and laser systems the Syneron Aurora technology, along with our Zimmer cooling system and topical anesthetic cream, usually results in MINIMAL DISCOMFORT during the treatment.

For enhanced results, Dr. Zemplenyi and his assistants frequently perform microdermabrasion prior to IPL treatment. Following each treatment patients may experience transient skin redness, and most patients are able to resume normal daily activities on the day of treatment. While brown "liver spots" and capillaries tend to improve relatively quickly, the best results are achieved with four to five treatments separated by three-week intervals. Even faster results are achieved in some patients with pre-treatment of the skin with photosensitizing alpha-amino levulinic acid (ALA). Pleasing results and further improvement of sun-damaged, weathered skin is achieved by concurrent daily usage of our skin care products (See Skin care).

Treatments with Botox and fillers further enhance the results and may be combined with Fotofacial RF™ (IPL) rejuvenation program. This program utilizes the ELOS technology (electrical and optical synergy) also works well for the sun damaged skin of the hands and the decottage area of the neck and chest.
